Mets go for second straight W against Milwaukee

Shaun Marcum looks to grab his second victory of the season for the Mets
The Mets(36-47) look to make it their second straight victory against the Milwaukee Brewers(34-51).  Shaun Marcum goes for the mets trying for his second straight victory on the mound against a Brewers team right now that is playing very poorly and is looking to capitalize on Marcum's slow start to the 2013 season.  On the hill for the Brewers will be Yovani Gallardo who is trying to improve to a 7-8 record on the season.  Gallardo who usually pitches well against the Mets is having a down year with an e.r.a of 4.78 and a record of 6-8.
This has been a down year for the mets with a few crushing late-inning losses of late but they are trying to take advantage against the brewers and notch a few more victories under their belts.  The recent re-call of Ike Davis so far through one game has paid dividends as he went 3 for 5 last night making a solid contribution in the mets 12-5 victory.  He will be a key if the Mets want to get this season back on track.  Another key for tonight's game is Carlos Gomez, the center fielder for the Milwaukee Brewers.  The former Met is having a breakout year with 13 homers and 41 RBI's and is also batting .319.  His glove has also been spectacular and that was seen in last nights game when he robbed Mets outfielder Marlon Bryd of a homer.
These are games that the Mets need to win in order to salvage any faint playoff hopes that they currently have.  On the flip side, the Brewers need to start putting some wins together if they want to stay out of the basement of the N.L. Central where they are currently 19 games behind the Pittsburgh Pirates.  Curious to here your thoughts on both teams and the matchup.
